Who am I?

My name is Jason Coffin. I was born in 1975 in a small coastal town of Rhode Island. I’ve spent most of my adult life in Boston, MA, but I recently moved to Columbia County, New York. I now enjoy a beautiful view of the Hudson River.

What do I do?

I’m a technology consultant, software engineer, and entrepreneur. For 15 years I’ve been developing software to help companies solve problems. I enjoy planning and designing software, building and organizing teams, and managing projects. I also enjoy marketing and customer development. I have had large financial service clients—Sallie Mae, Fidelity Investments, Bank of America—as well as small to medium business clients and startups.

How do I do it?

I work to understand the needs of my customer. Every line of code or feature must provide some measurable value to their business. I also take a great deal of pride in my work. I believe in software craftsmanship. Software should be relevant, well-tested, flexible, and easy to understand; but, most important, software should solve problems.
